TRUST YOUR HEART

Updated: Feb 10, 2024

A young student once approached Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and said, “I would like to write a concerto. Can you help me?”

“You’re too young,” Mozart told him, “wait a few years.”

“But is it not true that you composed music when you were just seven or eight?” the student persisted.

“Yes,” answered Mozart, “but I didn’t have to ask anybody how.”

 It simply flowed from within.

Frequently, individuals discover their authentic aspirations during their childhood, unencumbered by the cynicism that often accompanies adulthood. Children imagine themselves as professorial baseball players, rock stars, inventors, or even presidents with ease and rely on their hearts to lead them. It could be that this childlike faith is what Jesus referred to when encouraging us to embrace it and to live our lives in the Kingdom of God.

Recognizing the contents of one's heart is a pivotal step in realizing the divine nature that Father God has placed inside of us. A person possesses tremendous capacity when equipped with the ability to discern their heart's desires and childlike faith to trust their heart. Dreams and core desires are not frivolous; they are purposefully embedded within by our loving Father. They are not coincidences but part of a grand design.

Living from the heart differs significantly from a brain-related approach. While the mind evaluates feasibility, the heart challenges us to transcend limitations, urging us to act as if limits didn't exist.

To integrate faith into daily life, one must rekindle trust in the heart, Comparable to the reliance demonstrated in the early stages of life. Our brains are not an adversary but, in a world dominated by reason, it's essential to reclaim the dreams residing in the heart and recognize their inherent trustworthiness.

Discerning the dreams of the heart involves understanding what truly moves and matters to us. Exploring personal values prioritizes authenticity over material gain in rediscovering the heart. It's not about getting rich but about becoming real — living from one's genuine self.

A successful individual once confessed, "I can make money, but what I truly desire is to make a difference." His words came from the heart, emphasizing the pursuit of meaningful impact over superficial accomplishments.

It's a common realization that climbing the corporate ladder can lead to a sense of emptiness if the pursuit lacks a higher purpose. Blaise Pascal's centuries-old insight, "the heart has reasons of which reason knows nothing," resonates, emphasizing the depth of understanding within the heart that reason alone cannot fathom.

Trusting the heart is feasible because, as partakers of the divine nature, we have a built-in compass. Boldly and confidently, one can navigate life, knowing that the journey aligns with a divine mission. Trusting the heart becomes second nature as we embrace the truth that the One who initiated our journey will ensure its completion.

You might be thinking that I'm too old to begin dreaming anew. Let me speak candidly. That's your brain talking, not your heart. Your heart, the genuine one that God has implanted within you, remains untouched by age—it's eternal and never grows old. Embrace a childlike spirit and request God to rekindle those dreams He has instilled in you. Have the courage to live boldly from the divine nature that flows through you.
